Biography
Introduced to flatwater kayaking at the age of 15, Rachel soon developed a passion for the sport and soon became a member of the Great Britain sprint kayaking team.
In 2010 Rachel became the K1 European Champion and then went on the become Britain’s first woman to win a medal at the World Championships (where she won Bronze).
Outside of canoeing Rachel has a keen interest in other sports such as swimming, cycling and surfing. When not participating in sporting activities Rachel often enjoys relaxing through her hobbies in amigurumi, painting and reading Harry Potter books. Rachel is also a self confessed shopaholic.
Her favourite Olympic memory is watching Tim Bradbants win Gold in Beijing. With the Olympic Games coming to home soil, Rachel is now training for success at the London 2012 Games.
