Biography
At the age of 20 Helen suffered car accident that resulted in her having a broken back. Soon after Helen was determined to rebuild her confidence and get fit again. She was first introduced to wheelchair basketball during her rehabilitation at a spinal unit.
She quickly gained a talent for the sport and began representing her country at various international competitions. At the 2008 Paralympic Games she competed in the British squad against Japan in a very close match, however Helen saw her Japanese opponents take the victory and qualify for the 3/4th place match. Helen currently plays for the Aspire Force Wheelchair Basketball Club in London.
Outside of sport Helen enjoys spending time with her husband and son, Luke. Her favourite hobbies are reading and cooking.
As a current member of Team GB, Helen is now eager for success at the 2012 Paralympic Games.
