Biography
Ben Beckman’s mother and uncle were both very successful badminton players. Growing up around achievers in this sport, at the tender age of three, Ben took an interest in watching the top players and began to copy them.
Following in his mother’s footsteps, Ben joined the Wimbledon Rackets and Fitness Club and played in the junior sessions on Saturdays. Before long Ben rose through the rankings at his club and began competing in various international competitions, many of which he has found success. Ben is still a member of the Wimbledon Rackets and Fitness Club.
Off the court, Ben is the partner of fellow badminton player Munn Tzin Bong. When relaxing away from badminton, Ben is a keen fan of rock music and video editing. He is also a keen traveller and enjoys Asian food.
Additional to training for London 2012, Ben is busy coaching several up and coming junior badminton players from Surrey.
