Biography
Originally from Jamaica, Alexandra suffered in a car accident in 1995 which left her wheelchair bound. In November 2007, Alexandra was approached to team up with Niki Birrel. Since then the duo were selected to represent Great Britain at the 2008 Paralympic Games, the team also won the Paralympic test event. Despite being one of the medal favorites, Alexandra and Nikki finished in 5th place. However this has made the team determined to achieve Gold at the London 2012 Paralympic Games.
Outside of sailing, Alexandra is an avid environmentalist and has an MSc in Environmental Technology from the Imperial College, London.
