The distance of the men’s race is 250km and the women's is 140km. Both will include laps of Box Hill.
Where to watch
We are currently preparing a guide for spectators which will be published during spring 2012. Activities will take place across Surrey during the Olympic events to ensure local residents get a chance to celebrate the London 2012 Games.
Viewing the Olympic Road Cycling Race at Box Hill
LOCOG and partners recently announced that they will give spectators the chance to watch the races from the Zig-Zag Road incline and Donkey Green on Box Hill, while protecting the wildlife in the area. Admissions to this area will be administered by LOCOG, so please register with the London 2012 Games for more details.
The whole of the Box Hill loop is about 15km in length and LOCOG will provide admission to about 2km of this area along the Zig Zag Road. There are many more free vantage points along the remainder of the Road Race Route, including the Box Hill area. Details about the best places to view will be provided in the coming months.
How to get there
Public transport will be affected on the day and current information on public transport is available online:

Information about parking
Where you can park
Your district or borough council are making arrangements for parking during the Olympic events. This information will be available nearer the time.
Where you can’t park
You won’t be able to park along the route at any time when the roads are closed so you will need to move your car before the closures.
Any cars parked on the route after the roads closures will have to be removed.
Information about road closures
All roads that have junctions with the race route will be closed at that junction.
A detailed map of the route can be found in the July 2011 newsletter, although timings will be different in July 2012. At the moment we are planning detailed information of when the road closures will happen in July, and how long the closures will last. We will publicise this information as soon as it is available.
To make sure that the Olympic events are able to run smoothly and safely certain areas of roads will be closed during each of the Olympic events in Surrey.
Road closures are for the safety of residents, athletes and spectators during the Olympic events.
