Personal Best
Personal Best is a training and volunteer programme, aimed at helping people in unemployment into long term, sustainable jobs and volunteering schemes. Around 70,000 volunteers are needed for the London 2012 Games.
Launched in the South East in April 2010, Personal Best offers to train 500 unemployed and disadvantaged people across the region, with a number of employers providing work placements, including Surrey County Council, Active Surrey and Woking Athletic Club. Read more on a case study of Personal Best student Becky Pauling.
Aimed at people from the out of work sector, the course has enhanced the lives of a number of local Surrey people. Read more on their graduation ceremony with Olympic Gold medalist, Jonathan Edwards.
