Olympic Dreams School search

The British Council, in collaboration with BBC World Class, are on the hunt for primary and secondary schools across the UK to join up with schools from all over the world to take part in this project in the lead up to the Games.

They are looking for schools that want to twin with others around the world or in the UK who are excited about 2012.

Watch a video detailing the Olympic Dreams School Search.

How can schools take part?

We need your answers on the following questions, winning answers will have the chance to be twinned with a World Olympic Dreams athlete's school.

  • World: Teachers should explain why their school wants to be twinned and send questions from pupils that they would like another school to answer.
  • Olympic: Teachers should explain what the Olympics means to the school and to send questions from their pupils for Olympic athletes.
  • Dreams: Teachers should explain the aspirations of their pupils and will need to provide creative work from pupils sharing their dreams.

What do you win?

Winning schools will be twinned with a World Olympic Dreams athlete's school. See the schools these athletes attended.

As well as being twinned, a teacher from every winning school (as well as one pupil from secondary schools) will be invited to attend a London Conference. The winning schools will meet with teachers from the athletes schools to start their twinning journey.

They will follow the stories of Olympic athletes with their twin schools. Working with the World Class team, schools will be able to share and compare ideas and experiences on the BBC website.
