Branding, advertising and trading rules

There will be rules surrounding branding, advertising and trading in defined 'Event Zones' during Games time. In Surrey, these restrictions will apply from 12.01am until 11.59pm on days of the cycling events.

Trading

You need permission from LOCOG if you wish to trade:

  • on the pavement anywhere along the route
  • or 2 metres either side of the route if there's no pavement


The deadline for applications has closed.

Officers from Surrey Trading Standards Service will be enforcing these regulations on event days together with officers from the relevant boroughs and districts.

Branding and advertising

There are strict rules around creating an unauthorised association with the Games, for example by using Games logos or terms that are related to the London 2012 Games.
