Qigong tour of Surrey
Over July many organisations and individuals were introduced to the ancient Chinese art of Qigong, by Grandmaster Mrs Zhang Cai Qin, on behalf of the Chinese Health Qigong Association.
The tour visited various locations across the county including the Older People’s Day Care Centre, Friary Shopping Centre and the YMCA in Guildford to create awareness and promote Qigong's method of creating vitality and a tranquil state of mind.
On Friday 16 July, Guildford and Woking Fire-fighters were treated to a visit by Grandmaster Mrs Zhang Cai Qin. They were given a lesson in Qigong's powerful system of breathing techniques, gentle movement and meditation. See some photographs of the firefighters in action.
The Grandmaster's tour also included a visit to New Haw Primary School, where year six students were excited to see the Qigong demonstration and had a great time learning the movements and culture of Qigong.
Qigong is a martial art based on ancient therapeutic healing techniques. During the last four years non-profit organisation Heath Qigong Federation UK have started to introduce this art to British Society. In this modern life style, it helps to distress, balance your physical and mental health, improve joint mobility, improve your body flexibility and your qi (energy level).
