Pre-Games Training Camp update
Interest in Surrey’s Pre-Games Training Camps has grown significantly in recent months. These are exciting times for the county as we expect more foreign teams to base themselves in Surrey prior to the London 2012 Games. Team Singapore have confirmed that they will be training at the Surrey Sports Park later this year and Team Nigeria have signed a Memorandum of Understanding which could see them being based at various locations across the county. Exciting news has just come in from the Croatian and Swedish teams. Find out more:

P&G Surrey School Games update
The P&G Surrey School Games is now one month into its 100-days of sports period. A number of children have made achievements and through competing for a winning position on the medal tables. Here is an update on the 2011 P&G Surrey School Games so far.

2012 Business Information Event video
Last month we hosted three Business Information Events across the county. At these events local organisations were informed on how to make the most of the 2012 Games by obtaining London 2012 contracts and preparing for the expected tourist impact. Here we have uploaded a video of the event held in Woking. More information and advice for businesses can be found on our Business Opportunities web pages.

Register to be part of the 2011 Open Weekend
This July, Surrey, along with the rest of Britain, will 'open up' to mark the one year countdown to the greatest show on earth. From festivals to theatre performances, a number of cultural events and schemes are expected to take place across Surrey for the 2011 Open Weekend. Registrations will need to be completed by 27 June 2011, register now and be part of the London 2012 Games.

Young leaders transforming communities
So far in 2011 Surrey's members of the 2012 Young Leaders Programme have made an impact on their local communities. From campaigns to reduce binge drinking to plan to revamp a traffic roundabout in a London 2012 theme, young members of this scheme have continued to make progress and develop employment and volunteering skills.

Olympic ticket deadline - 26 April 2011
With interest growing in the London 2012 Olympic Games, more people are applying for tickets to watch the worlds greatest athletes in action next year. However the deadline for tickets is fast approaching, so apply for your tickets now for a chance to see the London 2012 Games. Applications must be submitted no later than 23:59pm on 26 April 2011.
