The Surrey Sports Awards 2011
Celebrations were in order in November as a number of Surrey's sports personalities received recognition at the Surrey Sports Awards. On the cusp of what will prove to be an eventful year in British sport, various athletes, volunteers and coaches were awarded for their contribution to sport within the county.
Torch Relay towns and villages revealed
The Olympic Torch Relay will pass through 11 towns and villages in Surrey during its nationwide tour. Over a course of 10 days in July 2012 Surrey will be gripped by Olympic and Paralympic fever as the Torch makes its journey to the London 2012 Olympic Park. Find out if the Torch will be near you!
North American Olympic cyclists to train in Surrey
As both the USA and Canadian cycling teams prepare for the London 2012 Games, Surrey will be hosts to their training for both the Olympic Cycling Road Race and Time Trial. Both of these races will take place in Surrey next year. These North American athletes will be among a number of the world's top athletes who will train in Surrey prior to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Find out more:
Now is the time to start Reaching for Gold
The 2011/12 Reaching for Gold competition is now officially open. This is a chance for young people aged 14 to 21 to pair up with mentors in the business and voluntary sectors and win prizes. Find out more on how to get involved.
Schools get set for London 2012 with grants to plan their Games
Schools across England are invited to apply for a grant of up to £8,000 to make the most of the opportunities available through the London 2012 educational programme, Get Set.

Alexandra Rickham nominated for World Sailor of the Year award
Epsom resident and member of the Queen Mary Sailing Club, Alexandra Rickham has been nominated for the female ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year Award. Alexandra received the nomination on the back of a highly successful year on the Paralympic circuit.
