Success for Epsom Paralympic Sailor
Paralympian Alexandra Rickham with her sailing partner Niki Birrel have proved their sailing superiority ahead of the 2012 Paralympic Games. Improving on their 5th place result at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics, the duo secure success at the ISAF World Cup and the Skandia Sail for Gold Regatta.

After an exciting introduction to the programme, Young Leaders Fran Edwards and Francesca Strange apply their newly acquired skills to various events including the Surrey Youth Games and the Health Qigong event at the 2010 Open Weekend.

Surrey teacher prepares for Women’s Rugby World Cup
Teacher Becky Essex, who teaches children with learning difficulties prepares to kick start England’s Women's Rugby World Cup campaign. The tournament will begin at Surrey Sports Park in Guildford and will feature 12 national teams including tournament favourites New Zealand. From 20 August to 5 September, Becky and teammates will be anticipating success and are excited to start the tournament at the Surrey Sports Park.
Score a penalty blindfolded
Paralympic mascot Mandeville has set a challenge for you to score a penalty blindfolded. For a chance to win £200 shopping spree in the London 2012 shop, you will need to upload a video of your self scoring a penalty blindfolded just like a 5-a-side Paralympic footballer.
Woking FC beat Pakistan International XI in an impressive 5-0 win
Home team Woking FC suppressed an international Pakistani side and achieved an impressive victory at the Kingfield stadium. An excited crowd of 1201 people saw the home side score a hat-trick within the 1st 15 minutes of this pre-season friendly due to efforts by Woking forward Dave Gilroy. The pre-season friendly was organised by TouchSky Sports in a bid to raise the profile of Pakistani football and generate interest from UK born Pakistanis.
Woking FC take on Pakistan International XI
A showcase football match between Woking FC and Pakistan International XI will take place on Sunday 1 August at Kingfield Stadium, Woking. This will be a rare opportunity to see the next generation of Pakistani football players displaying their footballing skills.
Young Leaders Programme recruits Surrey teenagers
A group of youngsters from Surrey have been chosen to join the 2012 Young Leaders Programme. The programme aims to give young people from disadvantaged backgrounds the chance to make positive changes to their lives. It will also give the teenagers the chance to engage with their communities and promote London 2012 Games related activities in their local area.
