P&G Surrey School Games update
The P&G Surrey School Games is now one month into its 100-days of sports period. A number of children have made achievements and through competing for a winning position on the medal tables. Here is an update on the 2011 P&G Surrey School Games so far.

2012 Business Information Event video
Last month we hosted three Business Information Events across the county. At these events local organisations were informed on how to make the most of the 2012 Games by obtaining London 2012 contracts and preparing for the expected tourist impact. Young leaders transforming communities
So far in 2011 Surrey's members of the 2012 Young Leaders Programme have made an impact on their local communities. From campaigns to reduce binge drinking to plan to revamp a traffic roundabout in a London 2012 theme, young members of this scheme have continued to make progress and develop employment and volunteering skills.

Olympic ticket deadline - 26 April 2011
With interest growing in the London 2012 Olympic Games, more people are applying for tickets to watch the worlds greatest athletes in action next year. However the deadline for tickets is fast approaching, so apply for your tickets now for a chance to see the London 2012 Games. Applications must be submitted no later than 23:59pm on 26 April 2011.

Pre-Games Training Camp update
In addition to the exciting news of the Nigerian and Singaporean Olympic teams choosing to base themselves in Surrey, more exciting prospects has come from the Swedish and Croatian Paralympic teams. Find out more about the growing interest in foreign teams potentially basing themselves in Surrey prior to the London 2012 Games.

Team Singapore to train at the Surrey Sports Park
The Singapore Sports Council have chosen to base their Olympic team at the Surrey Sports Park in Guildford prior to the London 2012 Games. Top international athletes including Olympic Silver medal winning table tennis players will train at the Sports Park in July and August of this year.

Nigeria to train in Surrey ahead of the 2012 Games

A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed with the Nigerian Olympic Committee and Surrey County Council. This could see the Nigerian Olympic team train in the county ahead of the 2012 Games. Find out more about this exciting opportunity for Surrey.

Our Sporting Life is a four-year, nationwide project developed by the Sports Heritage Network designed to give every community the opportunity to celebrate its sporting heritage in the build up to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
