The Prince of Wales played baseball in Ashley Park in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, in 1749, it has emerged. That is six years before William Bray described playing the game near Guildford in Surrey in a handwritten diary entry that has been verified as the earliest known manuscript reference to the game in the world.
